State House race: Ruto storms Nakuru in renewed vote hunt
By Wycliffe Nyamasege, July 8, 2022Presidential hopeful William Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza brigade will on Friday, July 8, 2022, hold a series of rallies in Nakuru County, in a renewed vote hunt mission.
A programme seen by People Daily Digital indicates that the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party leader will start his day with a session with a group of pastors in Ngata area within Rongai constituency from 9:00 am.
From 1:00 pm the DP is scheduled to address several rallies in Mbaruk and Gilgil town before heading to Kinamba in Naivasha constituency at around 3:00 pm. He will culminate the Nakuru tour with a rally in Kihoto area, Naivasha constituency.
The DP has had quite a busy week, holding tens of rallies in various parts of the country.
Ruto in Marsabit
Yesterday, the country’s second in command spent his second day in Marsabit County campaigning in four constituencies.
Ruto kicked off his campaign in Loiyangalani in Laisamis constituency, then proceeded to Illeret (North Horr), North Horr, before concluding his tour at Korr (Laisamis ).
Speaking in Marsabit town, Ruto criticised the curfew imposed by the government in the county to curb rampant insecurity.
“The imposition of curfews to manage insecurity in any part of the country is short-term; it is not the solution to the problem,” he said.
“Kenya Kwanza will prioritise security and the opening up of marginal areas as a long-term plan to maintaining peace and stability,” he added.
He said the Kenya Kwanza alliance will manage the insecurity situation in the county better should it win the presidency next month.
Ruto on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, held several stopovers in the county that culminated in a major rally in Marsabit town.
