Azimio la Umoja One Kenya presidential flagbearer Raila Odinga says he spoke with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres over the disputed presidential election.
Speaking to journalists at his Upper Hill office on Saturday, August 27, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader noted that he held a candid conversation with Guterres around the processes initiated to solve the disputed presidential dispute.
“Two days ago I got a phone call from the secretary general of the United Nations Mr Guterres. He called to talk about the development in our country and in the region generally. I briefed him about what has happened in our country, the outcome of our general elections and the processes we have initiated to get a satisfactory solution to this problem,” Raila stated.
The former Prime minister further stated that Guterres was impressed by the manner in which his coalition conducted itself.
“I gave him(Guterres) assurance that Kenya as a democracy must mature and we are determined to pursue legal and constitutional means to resolve the disputes,” Raila added.
Further, Raila expressed that he was confident that the Supreme court would deliver justice, adding that he was looking forward to ensuring that there is stability in the country if he gets into office.
