State House Race: Raila, Karua to woo voters in Nyeri county

By , July 5, 2022

Azimio presidential flagbearer Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua will, on Tuesday, July, take their political overtures to the vote-rich Mt Kenya region.

In a timetable released by the outfit’s secretariat, Raila and his entourage will begin their tour of Mt Kenya with a political lap of Nyeri county.

The Azimio brigade will kickoff its campaigns with a stopover in Chuka town, then address several whistle-stop rallies before culminating the tour with a stop in Nyeri town.

Raila will be flanked by the region’s elected leaders and a host of aspirants as he seeks to bolster his fortunes in the region perceived to be a Deputy President William Ruto bastion.

Raila’s Nyanza tour

Odinga’s Nyeri tour comes days after concluding a vote scouring mission in his Luo-Nyanza turf. The former premier pitched tent in Migori, Homabay and Siaya for the better part of last week.

He called on his supporters to turn up in their numbers come August 9th to ensure he garners the requisite 50+1% of votes cast.

The ODM supremo also called on his supporters to adopt the six-piece voting pattern. He stated that the pattern would enhance the formation of a stable government should he bag the presidency in August.
