Raila declares presidential contest with Ruto a horse versus donkey race

Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya presidential candidate Raila Odinga has now termed the 2022 presidential contest a horse versus a donkey race.

Speaking in Nakuru on Sunday, Raila said the competition between him and William Ruto is like “day and night”.

“We’ve been cleared by IEBC (Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission) to run for the presidency. They confirmed our credentials are okay, so we are no longer aspirants but candidates.

“We are now ready to face our opponents. The race is between a horse which is us and a donkey. Can a horse and a donkey compete?” He posed.

Raila cleared to contest

Raila and his running mate Martha Karua were on Sunday morning cleared to run for the top seat.

Speaking after being cleared, Raila assured the commission that his brigade will conduct itself in a manner that conforms with the requirement of the election laws and the constitution.

Raila joined five other candidates who have so far cleared to contest for the presidency among them William Ruto who was given a go-ahead on Saturday, June 4.
