ODM bags Kitutu Chache South, Kisumu West, Rarieda parliamentary seats

The Orange Democratic Movement party has bagged Rarieda, Kisumu West and Kitutu Chache parliamentary seats.

In Rarieda, ODM’s candidate and incumbent MP Otiende Amollo was declared the winner after garnering 37, 676 votes.

Otiende was closely followed by his long-term political nemesis Netto Adhola. Adhola, who ran on a UDM party ticket, garnered 23, 266 votes.

Former Deputy President William Ruto’s ally, Anthony Kibagendi, clinched the Kitutu Chache South parliamentary seat on the orange party’s ticket. Kibagendi managed 14, 478 votes, outwitting his Azimio counterpart Andrew Maubi. Maubi, who vied on a Wiper party ticket, garnered 10,378 votes in the hotly contested race.

Former Kisumu County Woman Representative Rosa Buyu has been declared the new Kisumu West MP after outwitting long-serving lawmaker Olago Aluoch. Rosa, who ran an ODM party ticket, got 39, 615 votes against Olago’s 19,045 votes. The incumbent MP Olago Aluoch vied for the seat on an MDG party ticket.
