I’m a co-governor of Kakamega, not deputy – Savula
By evans.maritim, September 12, 2022Kakamega Deputy Governor-elect Ayub Savula now says he agreed with his boss Fernandez Barasa to share power equally.
In a tweet on Monday, September 12, Savula said he will run 50 per cent of the county government and Barasa will take charge of the other.
“Don’t let anyone lie to you that Savula returned to deputyship, we have divided the county government and the government of Kakamega into two. Barasa has taken half and Savula has taken half,” he said.
Savula said they will share Kakamega’s 10 ministries equally.
“Constitutionally, Kamagega has ten ministries. Barasa will take five ministries and I will take five others. I am not a deputy governor, I am a co-governor,” he stated.
Savula says he was forced to support Azimio
Savula’s remarks come a day after he claimed he was intimidated to work with Azimio.
“I have not mentioned it to anyone but today I will go public about it. It is the coercion from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) that forced me to support the Azimio coalition.
“They arrested me together with my two wives at night on fictitious charges,” he said at a funeral in Lugari on Saturday.
Savula and Barasa will take an oath of office on Thursday, September 15.
