Church urges court to weigh Raila case

By , August 23, 2022

Church leaders in Murang’a county have urged the Judiciary to execute its mandate diligently and provide justice to Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga.

They said Raila has a right to seek legal redress over the poll outcome.

The leaders, who led a prayer session for Kenya, also said Raila should not be condemned by anybody for exercising his constitutional right.

“He has made it clear that he does not agree with the results that were declared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, and thus he is justified to go to court,” said David Gonye, bishop of Soul Harvesters Church.

“We believe our judicial service is able to handle this matter,” he added, urging Kenyans to remain calm as they await the court’s ruling. “Let’s avoid anything that could cause instability,” he said.
