Lawyers Otiende Amollo and Donald Kipkorir will now be part of the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition Supreme Court election petition legal team.

In a statement shared by Raila Odinga's campaign secretariat spokesperson Prof. Makau Mutua, the Raila-led faction announced that the two will be a part of the legal minds set to challenge president-elect William Ruto's August 9 win.

"SC Otiende Amollo and Donald B Kipkorir have joined the Azimio Supreme Court election petition legal team. We are honoured to have these legal eagles join the extant top and brilliant legal brains in the quest for justice. We will keep you updated on further developments," the statement reads.

The new development comes days after the coalition unveiled its legal team.

At the time, the coalition through its spokesperson assured its supporters that the team will ensure that justice is served.

While christening the lineup as the best team of lawyers in Kenya, Mutua stated that the legal minds will be shepherded by Siaya Governor-Elect James Orengo, Nyamira Senator Okongo Omogeni, Senior Counsel Phillip Murgor and Senior Counsel Pheroze Nowrojee.

"The case management team is led by Paul Mwangi and is composed of Jackson Awele, Julie Soweto, Velma Maumo, Prof Ben Sihanya, Fred Orego, Dan Maanzo and Tom Macharia.

"Other lawyers on the team are Tony Moturi, Dr Judy Oloo, Celestine Opiyo, Arnold Oginga, Barbara Malowa, Addah Awiti, Justus Jura, Leonard Okanda, Plister Omondi, Winnie Makaba, Jerusah Michael, Deborass Bubi, George Ouma, Edward Ambala, Geoffrey Sore, Naila Salim, Tabitha Wathuti, John Njomo, Jacqueline Njoroge, Speranza Nywaira, Kinyua, Hannington Amol, Ndegwa Njiiru, Mathews Okoth, Kennedy Wanyanga, Kevin Katisya," the press statement read in part.

"The consultants on the petition legal team are Prof Makau Mutua, C.N Kihara, Dr Adams Oloo, and Caesar Vanjao," the statement read further.
