Khwisero MP Christopher Aseka has attributed his election victory to the development projects he initiated in his constituency.

“There was talk that I would not be re-elected no matter what I had done for my people due to the then so-called one-term jinx. But that did not deter me from working for them,” said the legislator.

He added; “In fact, I resolved to continue serving the constituents even if I lost on August 9 the same way I had been doing even before they voted me into the National Assembly.”

Aseka weathered immense opposition from the Kenya Kwanza brigade led by ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi to secure a second term.

Mudavadi had promised to teach him and several other former allies who decamped to Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya Alliance a political lesson after they decamped from ANC.

The party then fielded Godfrey Kanoti, a close associate of Mudavadi, against the legislator and many political pundits averred his goose was cooked.

All former MPs of Khwisero including Julius Arunga, Akula Bulimo and Benjamin Andola were never re-elected. But Aseka always expressed confidence that he would secure a second term.
