Mediamax Network Limited, through K24 Digital, has sponsored the highly anticipated Carry1st Africa Cup Grand Africa Championships Finals for Call of Duty: Mobile, scheduled for this weekend.
The event will be broadcast live to viewers over the two-day period (Saturday and Sunday), starting at 2pm each day.
At stake is a substantial prize pool of USD 15,000 (Ksh1.9 million), with the winning team taking home the lion’s share.
The tournament will feature six teams from five countries, including Kenya (Delta and CZY), South Africa (Noxious Gaming), Ghana (Aura233), Nigeria (Sierra 7) and Morocco (Sun Esports).
Organisers have incorporated interactive elements to enhance the fan experience, including behind-the-scenes content, shout-out opportunities and live chat segments during the broadcast.
“These features are designed to make fans feel connected and engaged throughout the event,” a statement from the organisers read in part.
Ahead of the tournament, the E-Sports Kenya Federation president Ronny Lusigi (pictured) has expressed confidence in the Kenyan teams set to represent the country in the tourney.
Speaking to People Sport, Lusigi affirmed that team Kenya—represented by Delta and CZY, who emerged victorious in the national qualifiers—has been actively participating in various tournaments to sharpen their skills ahead of the big event.
“Both of our teams have been together for a long time and understand each other well. They know each other’s strengths, and this will play a significant role during the tournament,” Lusigi stated, adding, “We are bringing this home!”
Meanwhile, Allan ‘Serge’ Kimani, CEO of Team CZY, has urged fans to participate in the tournament and rally behind the Kenyan teams.
