National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi has asked the two parties involved in the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) petition at the Supreme court to accept the final ruling of the judges.

Speaker Muturi says that while Kenyans may have a different view, the ruling of the highest court in the country should be respected by all.

“The judges involved in the proceedings are learned and should be allowed to apply their reasoning. The ruling they will make will last forever and we should all accept to live with it,” he said.

Muturi who is eyeing the presidency come the August general election spoke today in Ruiru where he met grassroot leaders drawn from Gatundu North and South Sub-Counties.

He made the remarks as the fight for BBI continues at the Supreme Court as the hearings begun today and will go on till Thursday, January 20.

Last year, the High Court and Court of Appeal stopped the BBI process that would have led the country into a referendum to amend some sections of the constitution.

The initiative came into being after a handshake between President Kenyatta and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga in March 2018
