Zetech unveils first MBA program
In its sustained bid to develop market-driven courses that are in line with the needs of the job market in various learning areas, Zetech University has unveiled its first Master of Business Administration (MBA) course.
The MBA is hoped to equip graduates with competencies in key areas such as entrepreneurship and innovation, finance and investment, business intelligence and analytics, human resource management, procurement and logistics, and strategic management.
According to the Ruiru-based university Vice-Chancellor Prof Njenga Munene, the MBA was developed following a high demand for a course that produces leaders who are change makers in their occupations and various areas of specialization in management.
As it strives to upscale its capabilities, Munene noted that the private university is optimistic of developing a Ph.D program that will see market leaders equipped with more knowledge to complete the chain of their competence.
Speaking during the launch, Prof Munene said the institution continues to grow gradually in the education sector and is keen on producing employers and good managers for a holistic transformation of the country’s economy.
“Our institution has been on a steady journey that has seen us grow from a diploma offering college to a fully commissioned degree offering University. This has given us a deep understanding of higher education and its market needs. Now that we have launched our MBA, we will begin working on our Ph.D. so that the chain is complete,” said Prof Njenga.
Munene revealed that the institution involved the Commission of University Education (CUE), key industry players, and stakeholders from the inception to the launch of its MBA, to ensure that the MBA satisfies the current industry needs.
Among these stakeholders are Samchi Group of companies, the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM), and the Kenya Institute of Supplies Examination Board (KISEB).
“The Zetech University stands out in that our institution is committed to quality. Our quality assurance and enhancement procedures adhere to the general expectations that are outlined by the Commission of University Education (CUE) and requirements of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MOHEST). We have the premium input and process that we shall follow to produce our graduates, said the DVC Dr. Alice Njuguna.
