Kenyan Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)  that would like to showcase their products during the 17th China International Small and Medium Enterprises Fair (17th CISMEF) in 2020  have been asked to register with the Kenya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI).

This was agreed during a meeting between KNCCI President Richard Ngatia and Deputy Secretary-General of the People’s Government of Guangdong Province  Ren Xiaotie with Ren accepting to offer free exhibition space in the fair as well as facilitation to  Kenyan SMEs.

Following the meeting, the Chamber will take charge of organizing the Kenya SMEs to participate in the exhibition and forum activities of the 17th and 18th CISMEF.

Speaking during the meeting, Ngatia called on SMEs especially those eyeing the Chinese market to take advantage of the fair to form joint ventures with their Chinese counterparts to improve the balance of trade between the two countries.

“I am glad that the Chamber has another chance to offer our members especially small and medium enterprises who want to penetrate the Chinese market an opportunity to showcase in this international fair. KNCCI will continue to extend prospects to all our members to allow them to reach new markets and find their space in the global markets,” Ngatia said.

Besides display of Kenyan products, technologies and services SMEs and government agencies can be used to demonstrate national image, tourism resources as well as featured cultural resources.

“We have proposed the formation of a joint working committee between Kenya and the People’s Government of Guangdong Province that will help improve exchanges between SMEs in both countries even as we evaluate other areas of cooperation,” said Ren .
