Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Dispute Resolution Committee has cleared Jubilee Party candidate in the Kibra by-election McDonald Mariga to vie.

While making the announcement on Monday, IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati said the tribunal established that Mariga was a registered voter.

Mariga petitioned the tribunal after his Kibra candidature was invalidated on grounds that he was not a registered voter.

Beatrice Muli, the Kibra by-election Returning Officer who invalidated Mariga’s eligibility to vie for the seat on Tuesday last week had said she could not find the candidate’s name in the IEBC register and nomination checklist.
