Chief Justice David Maraga on Wednesday temporarily closed Milimani Law Courts after a member of the Judiciary tested positive for coronavirus disease.

In a statement, CJ Maraga said that the staff who tested positive had contact with several other members of the Judiciary.

“That member of staff had physical contact with several others before testing positive. The Leadership of the Judiciary has, in consultation with the leadership of Milimani Law COurts and the Ministry of Health, taken the necessary steps to suspend physical court operations,” said Maraga.

The court will be closed for 14 days with effect from Thursday, July 30.

“During this period, extremely urgent matters shall be dealt with on the online platforms,” the CJ said.
