Nine more people have tested positive for coronavirus disease, Health Ministry announced on Tuesday.

This brings to 59 the total number of people with Covid-19 in Kenya.

Health Cabinet Chief Administrative Secretary Dr. Mercy Mwangangi made the announcement at Afya House, saying that they had tested over 200 cases had been tested in the last 24 hours.

“We are exploring the usage of our boarding schools countrywide in the event the situation worsens. We have engaged county governments to identify specific boarding schools which will be able to assist in boosting our capacity…” – Dr. Mwangangi said.

The new nine cases were drawn from 234 samples analysed.

A total of 1, 668 people are being monitored after they came into contact with the 59 confirmed positive cases in the country.
