Global tech giant Huawei has rolled out Sh5billion worth investment to train 2 million professionals in the coming five years.

Through the Huawei ICT Academy Program 2.0, Huawei says it aims to set the programs in over 500 tertiary institutions worldwide.

Dubbed ‘TECH4ALL’, the initiative will train and award successful students upon completion.

According to Huawei’s Vice President of Enterprise Service, Huawei Enterprise BG Hank Stokbroekx, the academy’s aim is to bring more professionals into the digital world.

“Every year, we will build 600-1000 Huawei ICT Academies. By doing so, we aim to benefit more university teachers and students in the digital world, enable more people to enjoy equal and high-quality education, enhance digital skills, and inject fresh impetus into the industry,” says Hank Stokbroekx.

In Kenya, Huawei has over 20 ICT academies top among them at Multimedia University of Kenya.

Through the programs, students receive free courses on ICT and finally take part in a global competition for technology awards.
