Reactions to Trump’s Victory
World leaders are expected to continue sending congratulatory messages to Donald Trump who has sealed his return to the White House four years after voters turned him out.
So far, Kenyan leaders, including President William Ruto, have sent messages of goodwill to Trump, who outmuscled Vice President Kamala Harris to return to the helm of US politics while occupying the highest seat.
In his message, Ruto expressed willingness to partner with Trump to deepen democracy and promote trade and investment.
“On behalf of the Government and the people of the Republic of Kenya and on my own behalf, I convey to Your Excellency, my warmest congratulations on your election as the 47th President of the United States of America.
“Your victory is a testament to the firm resolve of the American people to repose confidence in your visionary, bold and innovative leadership,” Ruto’s statement read in part.
Following the win, VP Kamala expressed gratitude for her supporters and accepted the election results. She further pledged to ensure a smooth transition.
We must accept the results of this election.
