The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), is once again keenly focusing on revitalising its grassroots and national strategies as it builds renewed momentum ahead of the 2027 General Elections.

Acting party leader, Prof Anyang Nyong’o, yesterday disclosed that fresh efforts were being made to reconnect with voters and adapting to the new political dispensation in the country.

Nyong’o highlighted ODM’s commitment to regrouping and refining its strategy ahead of the 2027 General Elections. He hinted at the formation of new national alliances that will see ODM capture power.

“This proactive approach could help us regain support and position as a formidable contender in the upcoming elections. By addressing internal issues and enhancing our outreach, ODM hopes to solidify its role in shaping Kenya’s political future,” he said.

New alliances

He emphasised the enduring values of democracy and social justice that ODM champions predicting that this time round, the party will be part of the next Coalition Government.

“This rebuilding phase could be crucial in re-establishing ODM’s position as a key player in the country’s politics and we are seeking your humble support,’’ he said.

Nyong’o made the remarks on return to Kisumu after more than a month. He urged Kenyans to be patient as he highlighted the importance of perseverance in the face of challenges that have dogged ODM.

“Our commitment to the struggle for democracy suggests that the party intends to remain a vocal advocate for citizens’ rights and governance reforms, reinforcing its role in shaping a more equitable society today,’’ he said

Nyong’o, arrived in Kisumu to a warm reception from ODM party officials and members who thronged the Kisumu International Airport.

“We committed to go to the rest of Kenya and make sure we work together to build this party,” he said.
