6 Cabinet Secretaries revoke, make fresh appointments in different agencies
Six Cabinet Secretaries have made fresh appointments in various government agencies and boards while sending home a few other members.
Through the Kenya Gazette notice on Saturday, September 7, the newly appointed CSs made far-reaching changes to improve service delivery in their various ministries.
CS Mbadi
National Treasury and Economic Planning Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi through the Kenya Gazette notice announced changes to the Kenya National Entrepreneurs Savings Trust.
Mbadi confirmed the appointment of Irene Githiga (Federation of Matatu Drivers and Conductors Association), Kevin Bwire Mubadi (Kenya National Boda Boda Association), Joseph Kisoro Ogola ( Kenya National Federation of Jua Kali Associations) and Teresia Njenga (Mitumba Association) to serve as Trustees to the Kenya National Entrepreneurs Savings Trust.
The newly appointed members will serve for three years.
“The appointments of Okochil Martha Opisa, Louis Karisa Yaa, Ruth Jerotich Bungei and Ayieko Tom Okundi and the appointments made vide Gazette Notice No. 13601 of 2021 are revoked,” Mbadi stated through the Kenya Gazette.
CS Deborah
In another set of changes, Health Cabinet Secretary Deborah Mlongo appointed Ruth Jerotich Bungei and Tom Ayieko Okundi, to be members of the National Syndemic Diseases Control Council, for a period of three years.
CS Wahome
Elsewhere, Lands Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome confirmed the appointment of Samoe Farouk Fadhil, Moses Kiarie Wanjiku, Omar Bakari Ibrahim, Nasra Abdurehman Omar, Biha Wanje Baya, Maalim Fadhili Maalim and Abubakar Masoud Rashid, to be members of the Lamu West Land Control Board.
The newly appointed members of the control board will serve for two years and six months.
“The appointment of Julia Wamboi Njuguna, Ali Omar Mohammed, Simon Muguro Mwarania, Julia Wamaitha Kimani, John Mbugua Njoka, Zeinabu Gobu Wako, James Muriithi Ngiriri and Cecilia Wanjiku Ng’ang’a is revoked,” CS Wahome made it clear.
Education CS
The Education Cabinet Secretary also exercised the powers vested in him to make changes to the Eldoret National Polytechnic where he appointed Paul Kimutai Murgor to head the institution of higher learning for three years.
According to Kenya Gazette, Kimutai’s appointment is with immediate effect.
Justin Muturi
Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi also announced changes to the leadership of the Women Enterprise Fund Advisory.
In the latest despatch, Muturi has appointed Louis Karisa Yaa and Racheal Putani Leyian, to be members of the Women Enterprise Fund Advisory Board, for a period of three years.
“The appointment of Sophie Kadzo Kombe and Chepchumba Koskei is revoked,” the Kenya Gazette read in part.
CS Mutua
Labour CS also restructured various agencies within his ministry. Mutua reconstituted the Agricultural Wages Council by bringing on board 10 new members led by Juliet Khamasia.
He also made changes to the General Wages Council where 10 new members were also appointed and further reorganised the Seafarers Wages Council by bringing on board new members.
