Outburst against Finance Bill

The public outburst against the controversial 2024 Finance Bill is expected to go on even after the National Assembly passed it to the third reading stage.

The committee’s report was endorsed by 204 Members of Parliament, despite the fact that an outraged public made the stance known with demonstrations in major towns.

115 MPs, mostly from the opposition outfit, voted against the proposed tax collection law. That means a total of 319 MPs voted in a house of 349 members.

Meanwhile, at the Third Reading, amendments to the bill will be moved, and the whole House will take a vote on each of the clauses. The House will then take a final vote on whether to approve or reject the bill.

Euro 2024 action

Slovakia and Ukraine will clash in the first game of the day at 4:00 pm before Poland and Austria face off at 7:00 pm. The final game will be a blockbuster clash between the Netherlands and France, which will start at 10:00 pm.
