Finance Bill debate

After late changes to the Finance Bill 2024, the government and its supporters will wait to see whether opposition to it will significantly reduce.

The Kenya Kwanza Parliamentary group adopted a new approach after dropping the contentious issues before its introduction for debate in the National Assembly but that did not prevent the members of the public from fiercely protesting against it throughout Tuesday, June 18, 2024.

As the public debates the bill in its amended version, eyes will be keen on whether stakeholders, opposition MPs and other interested parties will embrace it.

After running battles between the public and the police, the National Assembly unanimously voted to postpone the debate on the bill to a morning sitting on Thursday, June 20, 2024, commencing at 9.30 am.

FKF PL actions

Football Kenya Federation Premier League actions will resume on Wednesday after taking a break during the June FIFA international break.

The spotlight will be on the relegation battle as the title has already been secured; Gor Mahia won their 21st Premier League trophy after a successful race that saw them see off rivals and claim the historical gong.

Nzoia Sugar, who have already been relegated will take on Muhoroni Youth, who themselves are fighting hard to avoid the chop.

Tusker FC and Posta Rangers will battle at Thika Stadium with the champions K’Ogalo taking on FC Talanta at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
