Politicians in churches and rallies

Being a Sunday, politicians are expected to flock to different parts of the country for church sessions and rallies. It has become a norm for them to attend church sessions and they never shy away from discussing politics.

The internal battles within the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) are set to continue after heated exchanges on Friday and Saturday.

On Friday, National Assembly Majority Leader and Kikuyu Member of Parliament (MP) Kimani Ichung’wah criticized Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, accusing him of sabotaging President William Ruto for his own selfish interests.

Speaking at the Gichuru Memorial High School thanksgiving and fundraising event in Gikambura, Kikuyu Constituency, Ichung’wah made his accusations public, escalating the internal conflict.

In response, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua hit back at critics on Saturday, addressing residents in Kagio Town, Kirinyaga County.

Without naming anyone specifically, Gachagua dismissed accusations of being tribal, following his relentless push for the one-man, one-vote, one-shilling revenue-sharing formula.

He accused those close to President Ruto of undermining his authority and reiterated that he only answers to Ruto and the people of Kenya.
