Kapaito shines as Tusker outsmart Muhoroni Youth
Erick Kapaito’s brace was enough for Tusker to sink Muhoroni Youth in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League on Saturday, March 2, 2023.
Tusker’s attacking department showed a solid working partnership with Kapaito, the day’s hero, John Njuguna, and John Byamukama, combining well at all times.
They managed to break the deadlock in the 36th minute when Kapaito drove home a cross well delivered into the box by Daniel Sakari. Muhoroni Youth’s goalkeeper, Peter Larry, who had kept off a shot by Siwa, was beaten this time around.
The goal was the difference at the break, although Youth looked threatening even after conceding.
Tusker extended their lead five minutes after the second half started when Kapaito found the back of the net, with Erick Zakayo taking credit for the assist.
Youth would have scored more had they made their chances count, especially those created by Samuel Adewole.
With nine regulation minutes to go, Adewole finally scored and denied Tusker a clean sheet at Muhoroni Stadium.
With the win, the Brewers, who started the season on faulty ground as they struggled, move to second place while Muhoroni will remain at position 16.
