A Mombasa court yesterday slapped a middle-aged woman with a Sh25 million bond after she was charged with several counts of stealing from her employer.

Fairoz Feisal Yassin who worked as a secretary for Daikyo Japan Motors Limited was charged with four counts of stealing more than Sh115 million from the company.

The complainant’s lawyer Jarred Magolo had asked the court to deny her bail saying she was threatening his clients.

But the accused’s lawyer Duncan Osoro told the court there was no evidence his client had threatened the complainants and denying her bond would be a violation of her rights.

Senior Resident Magistrate Vincent Adete released Yassin on Sh25 million bond and surety of similar amount.
