Tusker FC defender Daniel Sakari marked a significant milestone over the weekend by scoring his first-ever goal for the club since joining in 2021.

Sakari, who made the switch to Tusker in 2021, found the back of the net for the first time in competitive action during their 2-1 victory over Bumbani in the FKF Cup.

His goal proved crucial in propelling the Brewers to the round of 16 of the competition.

In an interview with the club’s media, Sakari expressed his joy and dedicated the goal to his daughter, Saira Sakari. He also expressed confidence that more goals would follow.

“I am delighted, and this goal is dedicated to my daughter. I believe there is more to come. Scoring is something that I can improve on, and I want to put in more effort towards it,” he said.

Sakari expressed his satisfaction with securing a spot in the round of 16 and praised the team’s collective effort in achieving victory.

“The first game of the tournament was always going to be tough, but we showed up well as a team to secure the win. In a tournament, there are no underdogs. Starting positively gives us momentum, and we can build on that moving forward,” the defender added.

Tusker are expected to face Kakamega Homeboyz in the repeat of the 2023 final.
