President William Ruto has called on Members of Parliament (MPs) to support his tax policies for the good of the country.

Defending the program, the Head of State underscored that it was a sure way of developing the country as well as a means of tackling the issue of employment in the country.

While referencing the late former president Mwai Kibaki’s policies, Ruto assured citizens that his administration was striving to restore the country’s dwindling economy.

Sisi tunafanya na bidii hata ile mambo ilikua imetusumbua na uchumi, sisi tumejifunza kutoka muungwana ametoka hapa Nyeri anaitwa Mwai Kibaki, sisi alituambia kwamba nchi haijengwi na madeni, nchi inajengwa na kodi,” Ruto added.

On his part, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua called for unity in the region as he addressed the ongoing claims regarding the formation of new political parties in the Mount Kenya region.

Addressing the issue, Gachagua assured residents that the ruling party, UDA, was still intact. He also affirmed that as the ruling party, the Mount Kenya citizens remain the largest shareholder.

Sisi tumechoka na mambo ya ukabila, na hatutaki mtu kusema ati tuunde chama yetu hapa Mount Kenya, chama ya UDA mimi ndio naibu wa party leader na sisi watu wa Mlima shareholding ya UDA party is the largest and that is our party,” Gachagua said.
