Tusker’s Eugene Asike hoping to end 2-match winless streak
Tusker FC defender Eugene Asike has emphasized the team’s determination to rebound from recent setbacks as they prepare to take on Shabana FC in FKF Premier League week 21.
The Brewers have faced consecutive defeats, both by a narrow margin, following a string of five consecutive wins in the league.
Tusker’s preps
Asike, speaking ahead of the match, spoke of the importance of the upcoming game and expressed confidence in the team’s preparation.
“We had a good preparation and all the lads are looking forward to the game (against Shabana),” Asike told Tusker TV.
“We know it is an important game for us. We have lost two games in a row, so everybody is really working hard to get back to winning ways.
“We took it as a learning process. It is not normal. We learn from our mistakes. We have trained really well,” he added.
Tusker’s first leg
Regarding their opponents, Asike acknowledged Shabana as a formidable side, having suffered defeat against them in the first leg. He stressed the team’s determination to rectify past mistakes.
“It is definitely a good side. We lost in the first leg but we are here to make amends. We want to step out on this field and give it our all and work hard as a team to do our best to get all the three points.
“We need to get all the three points so that the feel-good factor can get back into the team. We need that and everybody in the camp is really focused on the game.
“We had a good run before the two losses and we want to get back to that good run,” he pointed out.
Tusker have 31 points in 20 matches.
