AFC Leopards have received a major boost as fullback Lewis Bandi has returned to training after months of being sidelined due to injury.

Bandi had been out of action since May 2023 due to a torn meniscus. His last appearance for Leopards was in their 2-1 FKF Cup semifinal loss to Kakamega Homeboyz at the Nyayo National Stadium.

AFC Leopards returnees

Throughout the year, Bandi faced challenges with injuries, leading to a successful surgery on November 21 to repair his torn meniscus.

Goalkeeper Abubakar Mosha, who underwent the same surgery, has also resumed training. Their return coincides with a three-match winning streak for Leopards.

Meanwhile, AFC Leopards have officially unveiled striker Christopher Koloti as their first signing for the 2024 midseason transfer window.

The former Kakamega School striker has committed to a long-term deal with the club. Koloti’s inclusion comes after an impressive performance in an exhibition match against Kakamega Homeboyz, where he scored the decisive winning goal during the Governor’s Cup final curtain raiser.

AFC Leopards-Gor Mahia

Christopher Koloti’s arrival follows Gor Mahia’s successful signing of Mark Shaban, who had been training with AFC Leopards.

Despite expectations that Shaban might join AFC Leopards, he was officially unveiled as Gor Mahia’s third signing. This adds to the historic rivalry between the two prominent football clubs in Kenya.

Koloti, known for his prolific spell with Green Commandos in the FKF Division One Zone B, scored an impressive 21 goals. AFC Leopards strategically aims to strengthen their attacking prowess with this signing.
