FKF PL Week 14: Gor Mahia set for Nzoia battle as AFC Leopards tackle Bidco
The Football Kenya Federation Premier League Week 14 actions have been spread for two days, from Saturday, December 9, to Sunday, December 10, 2023.
On Saturday, KCB and Talanta will clash in an early kick-off set for 1:00 p.m. at the Kasarani Annex before arguably the biggest encounter: Gor Mahia vs Nzoia Sugar at the Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay town.
This will be an opportunity for K’Ogalo to win and widen the gap at the top after going to the summit following a win over Kariobangi Sharks.
The reigning Premier League champions will be eager for yet another victory that will help them take a further step towards their dream of retaining the title.
Seal target win
Murang’a Seal, who have suffered back-to-back losses, will take on Ulinzi Stars on their own turf.
Seal had been a solid and lethal team, but the two previous losses punctured them a little bit. They will be eager to see off the inconsistent Stars and return to winning ways.
Nairobi City Stars and Bandari will face off in the last match on Saturday, which will be held at Ruaraka Ground at 3:15 p.m.
Five matches have been lined up on Sunday, with Kakamega Homeboyz taking on Shabana at Bukhungu Stadium. Homeboyz are expected to take full advantage of their home crowd and win to gain more ground in the title race.
Shabana have seen their top-flight return not go according to plan, as they have greatly struggled. A win in Kakamega will be welcome, as they hope to collect three points and ease the pressure building up on their shoulders.
Sofapaka and Kariobangi Sharks will meet at Kenyatta Stadium while Muhoroni Youth play Police FC.
Angry Rangers
Posta Rangers, who suffered their second-season defeat againt City Stars, will be up against Tusker. This is expected to be a tough game, given that Rangers will hope to win and, of course, hope Gor Mahia loses, in order to return to the top.
On the other hand, Tusker will be going for a win to go up the ladder after a series of poor performances that have threatened their title ambition.
AFC Leopards, who held Tusker to a goalless draw, will have a duty against Bidco United at Kasarani Main Stadium.
In a catch-up match, Bidco will play Tusker at Kasarani on Wednesday, December 13.
