AFC Leopards will miss the services of midfielder Cliff Nyakeya as they head to the Football Kenya Federation Premier League matchday 10 fixtures.

Nyakeya is nursing a right calf muscle strain, an injury he picked during an FKF Premier League encounter against Nzoia Sugar FC at Sudi Stadium where Leopards won by a solitary goal.  In the match, Nyakeya was forced to leave the field due to a calf issue.

Nyakeya, a vital asset to the AFC Leopards squad, will be undergoing rehabilitation and recovery. The club’s management expects him to resume training with the rest of the team next week, indicating a positive step in his recovery process.

The midfielder’s absence was felt in the recent midweek match against Kariobangi Sharks, where AFC Leopards missed his contributions on the field and played to a goalless draw.

“Cliff Nyakeya suffered a right calf muscle strain in our FKF-PL match against Nzoia Sugar FC at Sudi Stadium. He will resume training with the rest of the squad next week,” Leopards announced.

AFC Leopards confirmation

“He missed our midweek match against Kariobangi Sharks and will also be sidelined tomorrow as we clash with Nairobi City Stars at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani. We wish him a speedy recovery, and we are looking forward to seeing him back on the field soon,” the club added.

He then returned to the FKF Premier League and joined Wazito FC. He joined AFC Leopards in February 2022 from Wazito and extended his deal in July.
