A group of Kenya football stakeholders drawn from Nairobi County have faulted the current Football Kenya Federation (FKF) office for the woes witnessed in the game.

Addressing the media in Nairobi, the stakeholders who included clubs’ officials, former administrators and retired players said that the current regime in the office is responsible for the stagnation of the game in the country.

Led by coach Eugene Masbayi they noted that the FKF needs a total overhaul in management structures.

“In recent years, football in our country has been in a very terrible state, the current football leadership has failed the country and should not be in office,” said Masibayi.

He added: “An all-inclusive normalization committee should be reinstated to help in solving the issues facing the game ahead of the visit by the FIFA-CAF delegation that is set to visit the country next week.

Football administrator Athanus Obango called for an engagement by all football stakeholders in the country to come up with a lasting solution that will see not only players but also former players benefit from the game.

“For the game to grow from the grassroots to the national level everyone should be involved from coaches, former players and administrators,” noted Obango

The forum was attended by former Kenyan internationals Dennis Oliech, John Lukoye, George Waweru and Victor Onyango.

Also present were coaches Edward Mnandi and Ken Odera together with administrator Hans Giteru.

The stakeholders urged Fifa to conduct a forensic audit of funds they have been disbursing to the federation for the last four years. Additionally, they proposed that all FKF officials implicated in the misappropriation of football funds as per pending court cases should step aside and they also called for the review of the FKF constitution.
