Gachagua: Mt Kenya will give Ruto a king’s welcome in major thanksgiving tour
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua now says he is planning a major thanksgiving tour for President William Ruto in Mt Kenya.
Speaking during an interdenominational church service at Nanyuki Stadium in Laikipia County on Sunday, January 8, Gachagua said the procession would start at Githurai to Sagana State Lodge traversing Kiambu, Murang’a, Nyeri, Embu and Kirinyaga counties.
The country’s second in command said the caravan will stop briefly at River Chania in Thika for prayers.
“Ruto’s Mt. Kenya homecoming. We shall receive you as a king because you are one. The procession will start at Githurai, Ruiru to Juja. We will first have a stopover at River Chania for prayers. Then proceed to Kenol, Maragua, Murang’a, Sagana kagio, Kutus, Keruguya, Kagumo, Kiangai, Karatina, Nyeri, Chaka and finally Sagana State lodge,” he stated.
Further, the Deputy President stated that he shall converse a meeting with all Mt Kenya leaders dubbed Sagana 1 to discuss the economic progress of the region.
“After the thanksgiving service for the Mt. Kenya people, we do a meeting with leaders in Sagana 1 we discuss how we can develop this region,” he added.
This comes barely days after Gachagua on Friday, January 6 prayed for President William Ruto while facing Mount Kenya.
In the 4 am prayer, the DP said he prayed to God to give the President good health and wisdom to lead the country.
“I woke up early this morning at 4 am to make a nostalgic journey to the mountain. The one-hour trek that included crossing River Rikkia reminded me of the great struggle for our freedom.
“I took time to thank God for his Mercy and kindness to the people of Kenya and for giving us the freedom we are now enjoying.
“While facing Mount Kenya, I prayed to ‘Mwene Nyaga’ to give good health and wisdom to our Great Leader President William Samoei Ruto as he embarks on the economic transformation of our nation and the restoration of the dignity of the Kenyan people.
“Mlima is calm, steady, and stoic na iko sawa,” the DP wrote on his Facebook page.
