A middle-aged man was Monday charged in a Kisumu court with abduction of a police officer.

Gordon Ochieng, who appeared before Chief magistrate Julius Ng’ar Ng’ar, was charged with abducting Kisumu based Sgt Godfrey Itur with the intention of causing him grievous harm contrary to section 260 of the penal code.

The alleged offence occurred on November 30 within Kisumu Central sub-county.

Ochieng also faced three other charges including causing malicious damage to a police car.

He pleaded not guilty to all the charges and was released on a bond of Sh100,000.

The case will be mentioned on December 6 and heard on January 9.
