President Uhuru Kenyatta has been asked to convene meetings in every region as he did in his Central Kenya backyard two weeks ago

Women leaders, who converged in Bomet County on Friday, said such meetings will bring together and unite leaders as well as help in addressing issues affecting residents from that particular region.

Leading the call, Uasin Gishu Woman Representative Gladys Shollei said by doing so the President will be seen as not taking sides since he is a national leader and head of state.

“Since the President has held a meeting with leaders from his region we are also asking him to go to other regions. Let him come to Rift valley and meet us so that we can raise issues affecting us in the region,” she said.

She noted that the President was a unifying factor and as such he should care about the unity of all leaders as that will ensure the set priorities by his administration are realized.

Those present were Bomet governor Hillary Barchok, Kandara MP Alice Wahome, woman representatives Joyce Korir (Bomet), Florence Bore (Kericho), Soipan Tuiya (Narok), MP Beatrice Kones (Bomet east) and Frolence Chematia (EALA) among a host of female leaders.
