Meet Justina, woman of many hats who would be Wajackoyah deputy
Justina Wamae (above) is a Kenyan business woman, advocate, newspaper contributor and politician. She is the running mate of Roots Party, led by its presidential candidate George Wajackoyah.
Wamae was born in 1987 in Kibera, Nairobi. She is the firstborn of two children and attended Kilimani Primary School, near Westlands. Later, she an joined Limuru Girls School in Kiambu county.
While in high school, she showed leadership skills by becoming a school prefect. She graduated from secondary school in 2005 and joined Daystar University in 2006.
Justina enrolled for a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Management Information Systems at Daystar University. While there, she was a member of the institution’s transport committee. She graduated in 2010.
Diploma in purchasing
She then went to study for a graduate diploma in Purchasing and Supply at the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supplies, United Kingdom, between 2010 and 2012.
She got the diploma and then joined Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology for a Master’s degree in Procurement and Logistics.
In June 2016, Justina became the chairperson of the WaremboNaUhuru Lobby Group, Machakos Chapter, where she worked to amplify the voice of young women in politics and advocated for the Kenyan youth to succeed in business.
In 2017, she contested an elective position for the Mavoko Constituency in Machakos county and lost the elections after getting 1,200 votes against incumbent Patrick Makau of Wiper.
Client services
Wamae left her position as chairperson of the WaremboNaUhuru Lobby Group in September 2017.
She joined Datum Dredgers, Kenya, as a client services manager, a position she held for five years until June 2022, when she became the presidential running mate of the Roots Party of Kenya candidate, Professor George Wajackoyah.
Wamae is married and has a child. She has worked in the logistics industry since the early 2010s. Also, she has contested a parliamentary seat and became a lobbyist for a presidential candidate.
