The past weekend was one of chaos, confusion and sadness as the National Super League descended into unpleasant sights.

In Awendo Stadium, the match pitting hosts Mara Sugar FC and visitors Muhoroni Sugar FC descended into an all-out brawl between the players and technical bench of both teams with the little police presence being unable to contain the situation, in what will likely put the football organisers on the spot.

It is alleged that a Muhoroni player punched his opponent who also retaliated with kicks before it turned into a brawl in a match that ended 1-0 in favour of Muhoroni Youth FC.

Meanwhile the top league contenders APS Bomet FC and Fortune Sacco FC are now in a league of their own following the opening of a seven-point gap at the top of the standings.

Both are tied on 47 points off the same number of matches played but the Kirinyaga based side has a superior goal difference of +2 having won three consecutive matches.

On Saturday, they beat SS Assad FC 2-0 at Kianyaga Stadium to stay on course for a maiden promotion to the top tier.

Assad are on 26 points and 16th on the log in their maiden season in NSL.
