Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura has conceded defeat in Ruiru parliamentary seat contest for United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket.

Mwaura lost to Simon Ng’ang’a whom he said he is going to support to clinch the seat in the August 9 general election.

“Joining hands with my competitor Simon Ng’ang’a today at Kist county tallying center after he was declared winner of the Ruiru parliamentary seat that I hotly contested for.

“It’s now time to heal the deep wounds out of the party primaries and thus move forward towards the August general elections,” the Senator said in a statement.

He said the focus should now be making Deputy President William Ruto in August.

“This is to ensure that the party remains united and focused towards our aim of ensuring that H.E Deputy President William Ruto becomes the 5th President our great country.

“The party and it’s ideals are far much greater than anyone of us. Putting GOD first, we shall win,” he added.

Mwaura was first nominated by Orange Democratic Movement to represent people with disabilities in National Assembly in 2013 before falling out with the party and joined Jubilee in 2017 where he contested for the Ruiru seat and lost in the primaries.

Jubilee nominated him to Senate where he has been serving until date.
