Senior education officials have travelled abroad for final inspection of the 2021 national exams ahead of shipment, People Daily has established.

Exams are expected to be shipped into the country by mid-next month. The 2021 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examinations will be written between March 7 and April 1.

Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha has constantly affirmed that the exams have been set with a human face and that candidates can handle all the papers.

“President Uhuru Kenyatta directed us that we must ensure exams have a human face. That is precisely what we have taken into account. Candidates need not be afraid,” assured Magoha.

The CS also dismissed reports that the government will increase examination fees. The President ordered that there will be no exam fees for all learners in both public and private schools,” Magoha said.

Kenya National Examinations Council chief executive Dr David Njengere said the council seeks to reengineer itself to provide a necessary assessment to ensure the country is on the right trajectory in the sector and national development.
