President’s tour in Western Kenya continues
President William Ruto’s tour of Western Kenya continues as he visits various locations in the region. His busy day includes a morning tour of Chepkurkur Technical Training Institute and Kapsokwony Township in Mt. Elgon Constituency.
Later in the afternoon, he will make his way to Nabing’ng’e Technical Training Institute in Tongaren Constituency.
Additionally, the President will officially launch the construction of the Bungoma County Aggregation and Industrial Park in Sang’alo, Kanduyi Constituency.
These visits are expected to address a range of topics, including development and political matters.
Commencement of African Parliamentary Budget Officers Conference
In another significant event, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Moses Wetang’ula, is set to inaugurate the African Parliamentary Budget Officers Conference in Mombasa.
This conference, which runs until September 1, 2023, will bring together over 14 African legislative bodies. The conference’s primary theme is “The Role of PBOs in African Parliaments’ Fiscal Oversight and Contribution to the African Development Agenda.”
The discussions will encompass the global economic outlook.
The African Network for Parliamentary Budget Offices (AN-PBO) hosts this annual conference as a platform for African Parliamentary Budget Offices and similar institutions to exchange ideas and share experiences on strengthening support for parliamentary fiscal oversight.
Kenya Defence Force Recruitment
The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) recruitment exercise is slated to kick off on August 28 in multiple locations across the country. This presents an opportunity for civilians aspiring to serve their nation as guardians of peace and security to participate.
